Our sympathy to John''s wife and family.
On behalf of all of us in the Ashtabula County Antique Engine Club, we want to send you our condolences. We will truly miss John. He did so much for ACAEC - too much in fact. But it was his passion to pass on items from the past that would keep so many memories alive and let people know what it used to be like. That is what ACAEC is all about - preserving the past for the future.
So many of the buildings on our beautiful grounds bear the hammer strikes of John. The country store will remain a constant reminder of him. He took great pride in all that the Club has achieved and he should because a lot of his sweat and hard work was mixed in with several others to makes those achievements happen.
He always showed up for Wednesday workdays when he was feeling well enough to come. He was a very active member of the Club.
On a personal note - I (Janet) will always feel privileged that John entrusted the only other key to the country store to me - I will try my best to live up to that trust.
Please know that John was truly loved by his ACAEC family and he will be missed. Our love to all of you.
Your friends from Ashtabula County Antique Engine Club
