Yvonne "Vonnie" Jean (Montgomery) Miller

Yvonne “Vonnie” Jean Miller, 85, of Sharpsville passed away peacefully on October 14th, 2024 in Grove Manor Nursing Home Grove City, PA.

Vonnie was born June 25th, 1939 to Margaret (Daugherty) and Harry Lamont Montgomery in Grove City, PA. She was a graduate of Grove City High School before continuing her education at the Sharon General Hospital School of Nursing where she earned her Registered Nurse degree. Vonnie worked for UPMC Farrell as an RN and also worked over 20 years at the South Py Market as a manager. On July 2nd, 1960 she married her husband, the late Wendell I. Miller who passed away October 17th, 2022.

She was a member of the Nazarene Church in Hubbard, OH. Vonnie was active in multiple churches, volunteering to cook for bereavement dinners and singing in the choir. She helped numerous local families by babysitting and being a caregiver to their family members. Vonnie also sold 1,000s of her homemade cookies for every occasion. She enjoyed crocheting and would do so for all special occasions.

Vonnie is survived by her  daughter, Darlene Marie (John) Taylor of Sharpsville, sons, Darrin (Susan) Miller of Mercer, Mark Miller of Bentonville, VA, grandchildren, Brock and Lynsey Taylor, Darby, Peyton, and Morgan Miller, Marcus Miller, and great grandchild, James Robb III.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Wendell Miller, brother, Jack D. Montgomery, sisters, Barbara A. Monks, and Shirley A. Montgomery.

Friends may call Thursday October 17th, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the Donaldson-Mohney Funeral Home 124 W. Main St. Sharpsville, PA 16150.

A graveside service will be held Friday October 18th, 2024 at 1:30 pm in Hillcrest Cemetery. Friends are welcome to meet directly at the cemetery.
