William Shields Jr. Obituary
William K. Shields Jr., 72, of Greenville, passed away following a brief illness 3:10 am on January 30, 2013 in St. Joseph Health Center Warren, OH.
He was born on February 5, 1940 to William Sr. and Ethel (Holzapfeh) Shields in Sharon, PA. He graduated from Mercer High School. William worked at Mercer Alloy in Mercer, PA and as a Plant Manager for Divers Steel City for 15 years. On June 5, 1971 he married Shirley M. Diehl who survives at home.
William was of Baptist faith. He enjoyed hunting and camping.
William is survived by his loving wife Shirley, 2 daughters - Paula M. (Todd) Snyder of Greenville, PA, Billie L. Shields of Greenville, PA; son - Kenneth V. (Linda) Shields of Greenville, PA; 3 sisters - Dolores (Andrew) Raiti of Greenville, PA, Ruby Hoover of Sharpsville, PA, Roberta (Bob) Regis of Sharpsville, PA; 5 Grandchildren - Sarah Snyder, Jocelyn Snyder, Brittany Shields, Zackary Shields, Cory Shields; 2 Great Grandchildren - Darian Keller and Sophia Keller, also surviving are several nieces and nephews, brother and sister in law Jerry (Patricia) Diehl of Transfer, PA.
He was preceded in death by father, William K. Shields Sr., mother, Ethel L. Shields, sister, Beverly Burnett and brother, Robert Shields.
Visitation will be held Saturday, February 2nd, 2013 from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Donaldson-Mohney Funeral Home, 124 Main St. Sharpsville, PA.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 2nd, 2013 at 3:00 pm in the Donaldson-Mohney Funeral Home, Sharpsville, PA, with Pastor Todd Jaussen, of Crossroads Church Greenville, PA, officiating.
Memorials contributions may be sent to Mercer County 4-H Route 19 Mercer, PA in memory of William.
