William G. Bresnahan, 90, of Sharpsville, passed away surrounded by his family at 5:00 pm on Friday November 13th, 2015 at his home in Sharpsville, PA following a brief illness.
He was born on April 16th, 1925 to James and Anna (Bender) Bresnahan in Sharpsville, PA. He attended Sharpsville High School. William was a veteran who served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He worked as a Craneman for Shenango Inc. over 40 years until his retirement. On October 6th, 1956 he married his wife Marian Welch who survives at home.
William was a lifelong member of St. Bartholomew Church in Sharpsville, PA. He was a member of the Sharpsville VFW Post 6404 and the U.S. Steelworkers local 1032. William was a Sharpsville Football Fan. He was also an avid Pirates and Steelers fan. He loved spending time and playing cards with his family.
William is survived by his loving wife Marian, daughter - Mary Ann (Phil) Caldwell of Crestview, FL; 2 sons - Timmothy P. Bresnahan of Hermitage, PA, David W. (Lynne) Bresnahan of Transfer, PA; sister in law - Margaret Welch of Sharpsville, PA; brother - Robert (Edna) Bresnahan of Hubbard, OH; 8 Grandchildren - Shawn Bresnahan, Jason Bresnahan, Justin Bresnahan, Steven Bresnahan, Matthew Bresnahan, Lauren Caldwell, Philip Caldwell, Andrew Martin; 3 Great Grandchildren - Ryan Bresnahan, Jasmine Vamosi, and Jennifer Vamosi; also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by father, James Bresnahan, mother, Anna Bresnahan, 3 brothers, James Bresnahan, Thomas Brasnahan, Daniel Bresnahan, 3 sisters, Mary Webber, sister, Margaret Hanlon, sister, Jane Thomas, and sister in law, Mary Ellen Welch.
Friends may call Monday, November 16th, 2015 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Donaldson-Mohney Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 124 Main St. Sharpsville, PA.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 17th, 2015, 10:30 am at St. Rose Cemetery Chapel, with Father Matthew Strickenberger, officiating.
Burial will take place in the St. Rose Cemetery.
