William James Anderson, 98, of Hermitage, passed away peacefully on Sunday December 18th, 2016 at his home in Hermitage, PA.
Bill was born on October 12th, 1918 to Jesse O. and Ethel (Bridgette) Anderson in East Lackawannock Township, PA. He graduated from Hickory High School. William worked as a Bus Contractor and driver for the Hermitage School District. He was also employed by H L Moore farm as a farm manager. Bill married his wife, the former Hazel I. Hogue. Hazel passed away in 1998.
He was of Methodist Faith. Bill enjoyed bowling at Reynolds Lanes and spending time outside visiting with neighbors, farming, and sitting outside. He especially liked old tractors and his John Deere 730.
Bill is survived by his daughter, Sherry L. (Richard N.) Iversen, son, David E. (Susan) Anderson, granddaughter, Janelle R. (Robert) Angermeier, 3 grandsons, Jesse D. Anderson, William R. Iversen, and Gregory N. Iversen.
He was preceded in death by father, Jesse O. Anderson, mother, Ethel Anderson, wife, Hazel I. Anderson, 2 sisters, Lovica Sherman and Stella Shaw, also 4 brothers, John Anderson, H. Glenn “Nosey” Anderson, Gleason “Butch” Anderson, and Jesse “Jake” Anderson.
Friends may call Tuesday, December 20th, 2016, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Donaldson-Mohney Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 124 Main St. Sharpsville, PA.
A Masonic Service will take place Tuesday, December 20th, 2016 at 6:30 pm in the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 21st, 2016, 12:00 pm in the Donaldson-Mohney Funeral Home, Sharpsville, PA, with Rev. William Locke, officiating.
Burial will take place in the Mount Washington Cemetery.
