Virginia Plake Troy passed away peacefully on January 26th, 2025 in South Boston Health and Rehabilitation Center, South Boston, VA.
Virginia ("Ginny") was born July 15th, 1934 to Nettie (Morgan) and Claude Plake in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. She was a 1951 graduate of Hickory High School and attended Westminster College. Ginny worked at Westinghouse in Sharon where she met her husband, Robert "Bob" Troy. On August 24th, 1957 she married her husband, the late Robert A. Troy who passed away June 24th, 2012.
Ginny was a member of First Presbyterian Church of South Boston and past member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Sharon, PA. She enjoyed reading her Bible, attending church, gardening. playing games with family and friends, and working jigsaw puzzles. Ginny was a big Pittsburgh Steelers fan and cheered loud and strong for her favorite team while waving her "Terrible Towel."
Virginia is survived by her son, Robert Paul Troy and his wife Lana of Huntington Beach, California, daughter, Constance Sue Troy of South Boston, Virginia, granddaughter Hannah Ashley Troy and her fiance Jay Arnold of Houston, Texas, grandson Adam Paul Troy and his wife Jheri of McKinney, Texas and their son Atticus, and granddaughter Gina Dorris and her children, Katelyn and Colton of Leander, Texas, and sister Roberta Penman of West Middlesex, Pennsylvania.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Robert A. Troy.
Friends may call Monday February 3rd, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm in the Donaldson-Mohney Funeral Home 124 W. Main St. Sharpsville, PA.
Funeral services will be held Monday February 3rd, 2025 at 6:00 pm in the funeral home with Reverend Rick Stauffer of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Sharon officiating.
Burial will take place in Hillcrest Cemetery next to her husband.
