Sherry Lynn Hether, 74, of West Middlesex, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital after a courageous battle with an extended illness.
Born on January 15, 1951, in Sharon, PA, Sherry was the beloved daughter of the late Mary Jane (Nicastro) and Martin Sas. She was a proud graduate of Sharon High School, class of 1969.
Sherry devoted much of her life to caring for others. She worked for Sharon Schools as a substitute, and held positions with Sears and Roebuck and JC Penney, where she served as a switchboard operator. On October 24, 1970, she married the love of her life, John D. Hether, with whom she shared over 50 years of cherished memories.
A natural nurturer and gracious host, Sherry loved cooking for her family and friends; her kitchen was always filled with warmth, laughter, and the comforting aroma of her favorite dishes. Her greatest joy, however, came from being “Grammy.” Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and they will forever carry her love and memory in their hearts.
Sherry is survived by her devoted husband John; her loving sons, John Hether of Hermitage, and Jeff (Michelle) Hether of Canfield, OH; her adoring grandchildren, J.J. Hether, A.J. Hether, and Johnnia Hether; her brother, Martin (Kate) Sas of Atlanta, GA; and several nieces and nephews, who all held a special place in her heart.
She was welcomed into eternal rest by her parents and by her sister, Carol Sas.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday, June 30, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Donaldson-Mohney Funeral Home, 124 W. Main St., Sharpsville, PA.
A committal service will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Anthony Cemetery Chapel. All are welcome to meet directly at the chapel.
Sherry's memory will live on in the love she gave, the lives she touched, and the family she adored.
