Samuel Rice Sr. Obituary
Samuel O. Rice Sr., 72, of Sharpsville, passed away on Wednesday September 23rd, 2015 of natural causes.
He was born on January 1st, 1943 to William B. and Mabel G. (Rummel) Rice in Barnesboro, PA. He graduated from Sharpsville High School class of 1961. Samuel worked as a Tester Operator for Sharon Tube, until his retirement in 2004. On August 31st, 1962 he married the late Dolores I. “Cookie” Spohn, who passed away on April 4th, 1999.
Sam was an avid fisherman who loved catching trout in the Shenango River. He also enjoyed duck hunting, playing euchre, but most importantly being a father, grandfather, and spending time with his family.
Samuel is survived by his daughter - Beth (Mike) Anzur of Sharpsville, PA; 3 sons - Samuel (Genine) Rice Jr. of Sharpsville, PA, Keith (Nancy) Rice of Sharpsville, PA, Robert (Lisa) Rice of Sharpsville, PA; sister - Patty (Howard) Miller of Brookfield, OH; brother Francis (Georgiana) Rice of Sharon, PA; 6 Grandchildren - Cory Rice, Ryan Rice, Courtney Rice, Austin Rice, Jason Anzur, and Jessica Anzur.
He was preceded in death by father, William B. Rice, mother, Mabel G. Rice, wife, Dolores I. “Cookie” Rice, brother, William Rice, brother, Theodore Rice, brother, Charles Rice, and brother Richard J. Rice Sr.
Friends may call Saturday, September 26th, 2015 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Donaldson-Mohney Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 124 Main St. Sharpsville, PA.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 26th, 2015, 4:00 pm at the Donaldson-Mohney Funeral Home, Sharpsville, PA.
Burial will take place in the Riverside Cemetery.
