Robert Vodenichar Obituary
Robert Vodenichar, of Sharpsville, passed away on Wednesday, October 17, 2018, in Sharon Regional Hospital surrounded by his family after an extended illness. He was 79.
Bob was born March 14, 1939, in the Patagonia section of Hermitage, a son of the late Joseph and Helen Seige -Vodenichar.
Bob was a 1957 alumnus of Hickory High School, Hermitage and has since been a lifelong Sharpsville resident. Bob was a member of the U.S. Air Force, for four years, where he was stationed in Delaware and the Philippine’s.
Bob was a machinist at the former General America. He also drove bus for more than 30 years for the former Bortner Tours, South Pymatuning Township, which later became Travelways. He spent many years farming and maintaining properties with Scott Lewis, and was a member of the Sharpsville Area School Board.
A loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Robert was an avid sports fan and he enjoyed nothing more than attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. He also enjoyed playing his daily lottery numbers and scratch offs.
Surviving are three daughters, Mary Jo Staunch and her husband Jack; Lori Ellison and her husband Brian; and Amy Sloan and her husband Keith; 8 grandchildren, Amanda Auman and her husband Randy, Brian Ellison, Anthony, Eric, and Madison Sloan, and Trey, Allie, and Chase Staunch; and two great-grandchildren, Kendall and Avery Auman.
Also surviving are two sisters, Marilyn Price and her husband Robert; Louis Fetsko, and her husband Robert; a sister in-law, June Vodenichar; and several nieces and nephews.
A side from his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife, Mary Vodenichar; three brothers, Carl, Joseph, and Freddie Vodenichar; a Sister Helene Vodenichar, and a nephew David Vodenichar.
The family would like to thank Breakfast at Tiffany’s and all their employees for being so kind to our father for so many years, as he was a daily patron.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made in memory of Bob Vodenichar to the Sharpsville Boosters Club, 1 Blue Devil Way Sharpsville, PA 16150 or the West Middlesex all sports boosters, 3591 Sharon Rd. West Middlesex, PA 16159.
Friends may call Friday October 19th, 2018 from 4 pm to 7 pm at Donaldson-Mohney Funeral Home & Cremation Service 124 Main St. Sharpsville, PA 16150.
Funeral Services will be held Friday October 19th, 2018 at 7 pm in the Donaldson-Mohney Funeral Home.
Burial will take place at Westside Cemetery.
