Robert Jennings Obituary

Robert N. “Corny” Jennings Sr. formerly of Sharpsville, passed away following a brief illness 5:20 pm on Friday May 17, 2013 at St. Paul’s Home in Greenville, PA. He was 87.
  
Robert was born on November 15, 1925 to Fred and Eva Mae (Tedrow) Jennings in Sharpsville, PA. He graduated from Sharpsville High School class of 2003. He served in the Marine Corps during World War II in the Pacific theatre. Robert worked as a Route Salesman for Frito-Lay until his retirement after 30 years. On August 14, 1948 he married Dorothy Dodds who survives in Greenville, PA.
  
He was a charter member of South Pymatuming Community Church. He was also a member of the Sharpsville VFW. Robert enjoyed golfing, bowling with his late friend Ange Leonetti, hunting with his late friend George Abbott, and spending time with his late friend Jim Ague. He was a Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers fan. He was Santa Claus at Kraynaks and drove the Chug van for Dean Dairy. Robert was a people person who enjoyed socializing with everyone. Robert’s family was most important to him.
  
Robert is survived by his loving wife Dorothy, daughter - Wendy K. Andes of Sharpsville, PA; son - Robert (Denise) Jennings Jr. of West Middlesex, PA; brother - Fred (Mary) Jennings of Greenville, PA; grandson - Matthew Jennings; 4 granddaughters - Keri O'Brien, Alicia Kimpan, Julie Pollock, Jill Andes; 4 great-grandchildren - Caleb, Benjamin, Sam, and Kylie. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
  
He was preceded in death by father, Fred Jennings, mother, Eva Mae Jennings, infant brother, Charles Jennings, brother, Herman Jennings, brother, Blaine Jennings, sister, Agnes Hixon, sister, Elizabeth McCracken-Boyd, sister, Kathryn Davenport, and sister, Martha McCartney.
    
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2013, 11:00 am at the Donaldson-Mohney Funeral Home, 124 Main St. Sharpsville, PA, with Rev. David Searle, officiating.
