Paul Montgomery Obituary

Paul James Montgomery, 87, passed away on April 8, 2025. He was born on October 8, 1937.

Paul was the founder of Montgomery Trap Company, which he built with his father in Mahaffey, Pennsylvania. He had a natural, deeper instinct for how things worked in the world around him. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea, in artillery.

Paul was sharp, stubborn, and always drawn to the task at hand. He was the kind of man who enjoyed a good game of poker and the challenge of figuring out angles others didn’t see. He liked to argue, but his intentions were always good. He grew up in a wild time, and that edge stayed with him throughout his life. After his time in the service, he met his wife, Jo Ann, in Buffalo, New York. The two eloped and were married for 50 years.

For more than a decade, he worked closely with his son, Adam, passing down a perspective shaped not by books, but by experience. He was unfiltered, caring, and often insightful.

He is survived by his two children, Heather and Adam Montgomery.

He will be missed.
