Leveda Sike Obituary
Leveda A Sike, 81, of Mercer, passed away, 5:30 a.m., following an accidental head injury. She passed on June 18, 2013 in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh PA. She was a five year survivor of cancer.
Leveda was born on September 8, 1931 to Wilbert and Matilda (Sullinger) Bennett in Black Lick, PA. She graduated from Sharpsville High school, class of 1950. Leveda worked at Shenango Metal Craft, the South Side Market, and Golden Dawn. On September 8, 1951 she married the late Paul E Sike SR, who passed away March, 2, 1999.
She enjoyed reading, baking, gardening, yard work, and tending to flowers at Countryside Assisted Living Home. Leveda was of Presbyterian faith and attended services at Countryside. She retired from Paul’s Southside Golden Dawn in 2001, after retiring she maintained a close relationship with her working associates and friends whom she loved to spend time with. Leveda was a friend to all, she had a smile and a hug for everyone she met. Throughout her life she was a caregiver to her family & friends in their time of need. She lived in Sharpsville for over 70 years.
Leveda is survived by her son - Paul Sike Jr. of Denham Springs, LA; daughter – Susan (Skip) Clark of Warren, OH; Step Granddaughter - Lyndsey Cochran of Baton Rouge, LA; and Step Grandson - Joshua Cochran of Baton Rouge, LA.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Paul, father, Wilbert Bennett, mother, Matilda Bennett, sister, Verna Spohn, sister, Phyllis Bauers, sister, Dorothy Bennett, and brother, Darrell Bennett.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 20, 2013 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Donaldson-Mohney Funeral Home, 124 Main Street, Sharpsville, PA.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2013, 1:00 pm at the Donaldson-Mohney Funeral Home, Sharpsville, PA, with Maria Bandzak , officiating.
Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery.
Arrangements entrusted to the Donaldson-Mohney Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
