Leo Frank Mizner - Korean War Veteran. Copperweld Retiree.
Leo F. Mizner of 419 Rutledge Rd. Greenville, PA has left this world to dwell forever more in a mansion in the house of his Lord that Jesus had gone before and prepared for him on November 11th, 2013 at 12:15 am while at home following natural causes. Leo was 82 years old.
Leo was born on November 16th, 1930 in Sharpsville, PA to William M. and Minnie (Ross) Mizner. He was the 11th of 12 children. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister in law. Ray and his wife Helen (Spargo) Mizner, Kenneth and Donald Mizner, and infant brother. Also preceding him in death are seven sisters and six brother in laws. Mildred and her husband Robert Puller, Rena and her husband General Lane, Dorothy and her husband Percy Sutton, infant sister, also Dolores and her husband Richard Newton, and Edith and her husband Floyd “Dean” Rainey. He is also preceded in death by brother in law Joseph V. Gabany, husband of his one remaining sister, Alice Louise. Also remaining is one sister in law, Dorothy (Sobeck) Mizner, widow of brother Donald L. Leo leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom he fondly helped in one way or another. He loved them all. His generosity was well known.
Anyone who knew Leo recognized the high value and respect he felt for all of God’s creations. From the largest animal to the smallest insect, even plant life had a special meaning to him.
Leo served with the Marine Corp as Proof Technician Small Arms, during the Korean War from January 15th, 1951 to May 1954, earning the Good Conduct Medal Award, Navy Occupational Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal with 2 stars, and the United Nations Service Medal.
Leo F. Mizner was a wonderful man and will not soon be forgotten by those whose lives he touched. Son, Brother, Uncle, Cousin, Neighbor, rest forever in much deserved peace in the House of God.
I will miss you, my Brother.
Friends may call Wednesday November 13th, 2013 from 5 pm to 7:30 pm in the Donaldson-Mohney Funeral Home & Cremation Service 124 Main St. Sharpsville, PA.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday November 13th, 2013 at 7:30 pm in the Donaldson-Mohney Funeral Home and Cremation Service with his nephew Rev. Kenneth Saul, Associate Pastor of the First Church of God Greenville, PA officiating.
Internment will take place in Westside Cemetery Sharpsville, PA.
