Julia “Julie” Irene (Kalmer) Skarosi, age 92, of 68 North Wood Street, Greenville, PA, peacefully passed away on Monday, September 15, 2014.
Julie was born on June 2, 1922 in Youngstown, Ohio to Joseph and Caroline (Dora) Kalmer. She attended Chaney High School, Youngstown, Ohio. She was a devoted member of Bethlehem Presbyterian Church, Sharon, PA, where she married her husband of 45 years, Joseph Skarosi. He preceded her in death on December 5, 1985.
She was a homemaker who welcomed everyone and made them feel comfortable and loved. Julie was a kind, compassionate and loving woman. Any task that the Lord gave her was done without complaint or hesitation. Her most important asset was her faith and love of God. Her children have been blessed with her legacy and are fortunate to have this strong faith passed down to them.
Julie was always involved with a project especially crocheting, quilting, and making crafts. She also made beautiful beaded jewelry that she shared with her family. She was a great Hungarian cook who prepared her meals with love and enjoyed seeing her children and grandchildren carry on her traditions.
Julie woke up each day with a thankful heart and quick smile for her loved ones. Even at 92, she put on her make-up, wore her jewelry, and had her hair perfect. She did this with a humble and beautiful spirit.
Julie’s family is very appreciative of the special people who comforted her as she made her way to heaven. She was blessed with many wonderful miracles throughout her life, even during her final days.
Survivors include her three daughters, Beverly J. Hazlett, Judith K. Scibetta, Diane E. Carpenter and her husband Rudy. Her grandchildren include: Cari Sue Hazlett, David Hazlett, Julie (Hazlett) Vietmeier and husband Darrin; Joanna (Scibetta) Faber and husband Robert, Joseph Scibetta; Jon Carpenter, Jena (Carpenter) Rummel and husband Kris. She was also blessed with a great great grandchild, Harper Giardina. Also surviving are one sister, Margaret Pecchio, and sisters-in-law, Lucy Kalmer and Shirley Skarosi.
