Josephine Benetto Obituary
Josephine Benetto, 96, of Niles, passed away peacefully following a brief illness 6:30 am on Monday September 22nd, 2014 at Manor of Autumn Hills Niles, OH.
Josephine was born on August 15, 1918 to Peter and Domenica (Morabito) Toscano in Sharpsville, PA. She graduated from Sharpsville High School. Josephine worked as a Punch Press Operator, 36 years, for Westinghouse until her retirement. On November 4, 1939 she married the late Roosevelt Charles “Ted” Benetto who passed away in 1962.
She was a lifelong member of St. Bartholomew Roman Catholic Church in Sharpsville, PA. Josephine was very family oriented. She loved taking care of her grandchildren & great grandchildren and attending their sporting events. She also enjoyed playing cards.
Josephine is survived by her son - Raymond (Judy) Benetto of Warren, OH; 3 sisters - Palma (Tony) Rossi of Apopka, FL, Katherine Toscano of Farrell, PA, Nancy Liptak of Eustis, FL; 3 Grandchildren - Terry Benetto, Tracey (Michael) Pollifrone, Jamie Benetto; 6 Great Grandchildren - Gianna Pollifrone, Michael Pollifrone, Leah Pollifrone, Samantha Benetto, Elizabeth Benetto, and Joseph Benetto.
She was preceded in death by father, Peter Toscano, mother, Domenica Toscano, husband, Roosevelt Charles "Ted" Benetto, brother, Joseph Toscano and his wife Margaret, sister, Ann Stacconi and her husband Tony, also brother in law, John Liptak.
Friends may call Friday, September 26, 2014 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Donaldson-Mohney Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 124 Main St. Sharpsville, PA.
Mass will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2014, 10:30 am at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, Sharpsville, PA, with Father Matthew Strickenberger, officiating.
Interment will take place in St. Marys Cemetery.
