Joseph Diurba Obituary

Joseph Diurba, 96, formerly of Sharpsville, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Wednesday November 30th, 2016 at St. Paul Homes in Greenville, PA.  
  
Joseph was born on May 2nd, 1920 to George and Mary Grexa Diurba in Sharpsville, PA.  He attended school in the Hickory School District. He was a veteran of World War II where he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. Joseph worked as a Machinist for Westinghouse and he also worked as the caretaker for the Westinghouse Recreation Center.

On May 19th, 1942, he married the late Ester Lucille Nelson Diurba, who passed away on April 5th, 2008.
  
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Sharpsville, PA, the Sharpsville American Legion, and the Sharpsville American Legion Golf League.
  
Joseph is survived by his three children, eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.  His daughter, Connie Lucille Diurba Landfair, and her husband, Dr. Roy Landfair, reside in Sewickley, PA. His son, Ronald Joseph Diurba, and his wife, Amanda Gwilliam Diurba, reside in Millbury, MA.  His son Larry John Diurba, and his wife, Beverly Schuler Diurba, reside in Mars, PA.

Joseph’s grandchildren include; Benjamin N. Diurba and his wife Debbie, Abigail G. Diurba Haegele and her husband Nick, Emily R. Diurba Ball and her husband Tim, Jeffrey J. Landfair and his wife Kaelen, Justin J. Landfair and his wife Angie, Megan L. Landfair Hoeflicker and her husband Cale, Erin S. Diurba and her husband Steven Untch, and Jonathan S. Diurba.  

Joseph is also survived by his eight great-grandchildren; Nicole, Andrew, Ryan, and Miriam Ball; Korsen, Seren, and Addien Landfair; and Griffin Landfair.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Diurba; his mother, Mary Diurba; his wife, Ester Lucille Nelson Diurba; 6 sisters, and 3 brothers. Joseph was the last surviving of the 10 children of George and Mary Diurba.  
  
Friends may pay their respects to the family on Saturday December 3rd, 2016 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Donaldson-Mohney Funeral Home, 124 Main St. Sharpsville, PA.
  
The funeral service will follow at 12:00 noon on Saturday December 3rd, 2016 at the Donaldson-Mohney Funeral Home.

Burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery, Sharpsville, PA, with full military honors, following the funeral service.
  
In lieu of flowers or gifts, memorial contributions may be sent to St. Paul Homes, 339 E. Jamestown Rd. Greenville, PA 16125; or to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011 Washington, DC 20090.
