John Paul “Lefty” DeAngelis of Sharpsville, PA passed away 7:20 am on Monday April 6th, 2015 at Hospice of the Valley in Poland, OH after an extended illness. He was 86.
Mr. DeAngelis was born on May 15th, 1928 in Sharpsville, PA to Sossio and Assunta (Rosati) DeAngelis. He graduated from Sharpsville High School class of 1946.
He was a combat veteran who served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from December 5th, 1950 thru September 4th, 1952. He received the Korean service Medal with one Bronze Star and the Combat Infantry Badge.
Mr. DeAngelis worked for Shenango Inc. 46 years until his retirement.
Mr. DeAngelis was a lifetime member of St. Bartholomew’s Roman Catholic Church in Sharpsville, PA. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6404 Sharpsville.
Lefty coached Little League baseball in Sharpsville and was an avid Blue Devils fan. He enjoyed playing softball in the “old” Sharpsville League.
Mr. DeAngelis is survived by a brother Joseph V. (Antoinette) DeAngelis and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, Margaret Hether, Loretta Pepe, and infants Margaret & Mary Olivia, three brothers Vincent, Jesse, and Dominick.

Mass will be held Friday April 10th, 2015 at 12:30 pm in St. Bartholomew Roman Catholic Church Sharpsville, PA.
