Joan Elizabeth Hilko, 84, of Greenville, formerly of Sharpsville, passed away from Alzheimers at 9:55 pm on February 8, 2014 at St. Paul Homes Greenville, PA.
Joan was born on December 30, 1929 to Harvey and Gladys (Minner) Fleet in Sharon, PA. She graduated from Fredonia High School class of 1947. Joan worked as a Seamstress for Grimms Awnings 27 years until her retirement in 1994. On January 8, 1949 she married her husband the late William P. Hilko Sr. who passed away October 10th, 2010.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Hermitage, PA. Joan was also a member of the Dorcas Society at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and the South Pymatuning Early Birds bowling league. She was a talented artist who enjoyed painting, flower gardening, and crafts. In her younger years she enjoyed water skiing, boating, and bowling. Joan enjoyed traveling to Texas and Florida. She loved time spent with her family and attending her children and grandchildren’s sporting events.
Joan is survived by her daughter - Linda Bateman of Jamestown, PA; son - William P. (Sylvia) Hilko Jr. of Deleware Township, PA; 2 brothers - Harvey (Debbie) Fleet of Jupiter, FL, Paul (Peg) Fleet of TX; 4 Grandchildren - William P. Hilko III, Joshua Hilko, Blair Bateman, Mark Bateman; 5 Great Grandchildren - Brick Bateman, Katie Bateman, Charlotte Bateman, Matthew Hilko, and Jonathan Hilko.
She was preceded in death by father, Harvey Fleet, mother, Gladys Fleet, husband, William P. Hilko Sr., and granddaughter, Bonnie Hilko.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 12, 2014 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Donaldson-Mohney Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 124 Main St. Sharpsville, PA.
Friends may also call Thursday, February 13th, 2014 from 10:00 am to 10:30 am at Donaldson-Mohney Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2014, 11:00 am at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Hermitage, PA, with Pastor Gary Nelson, officiating.
