James Cartwright Obituary
James Kenneth Cartwright, 74, of Hermitage, passed away Thursday, December 1st, 2016 in Sharon Regional Health System Sharon, PA.
Jim was born December 8th, 1941 to Raymond K. and Violet (Reichard) Cartwright.
He was a graduate of Sharpsville High School, class of 1959. Jim served his country in the United States Army in which he was stationed in France for two years. He married his wife Joyce Gereb on October 10th, 1964 and together they had two wonderful children, sharing more than 52 years of marriage.
Jim worked for Sawhill in Sharon as a millwright, retiring with 33 years of service in 1996.
Jim was a member of Wheatland Mercer County Coin Club, and a very active member in his church; East Side Church (Baptist-Disciples of Christ), Sharon. He served as Deacon, Elder and for several years as Chairman on the Board of Trustees. Jim enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and time spent at his hunting camp. He always enjoyed working in the yard and gardening. In earlier years, he enjoyed bowling and camping with his family. Jim enjoyed working on projects, and was a handyman in many areas, he was always glad to help others. Jim’s main interest was his faith, family, and friends. He was a quiet, reserved, caring person who will be missed by many.
Jim is survived by his wife; Joyce, daughter; Lisa Lynn Cartwright, Farrell, PA., son; William K. “Bill” (Lisa Anne) Cartwright, Salem, OH., brother; Robert (Carolyn) Cartwright, Westerville, OH., and granddaughter; Jessica Anne Cartwright.
He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond K. and Violet Cartwright.
Friends may call Monday, December 5th, 2016 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, and Tuesday, December 6th from 10:00 am to11:00 am at the Donaldson-Mohney Funeral Home & Cremation Service 124 Main St. Sharpsville, PA.
Funeral Services will take place on Tuesday, December 6th, 2016 at 11:00 am at Donaldson-Mohney Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery.
