Helen Canter Obituary
Helen Canter, 81, of Hermitage, passed away on Wednesday December 27th, 2017 at her home in Hermitage, PA.
Helen was born on April 19th, 1936 to Fred and Mae Elizabeth (Groscost) Bloss in Sharon, PA. She graduated from Sharpsville High School, class of 1954 where she was an honor student, majorette, and sang in the choir. She also graduated from the Shenango Valley Business School. Helen worked in the office for Mercer County District Court. On November 28th, 1957 she married the late Robert M. Canter, who preceded her in death.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Sharpsville. Helen sang in the choir, was the Sunday school secretary, and a member of the Mae Bloss Sunday school class. She enjoyed bowling and played on the Tracy Omerzo Design Team in the Hits & Misses Bowling League.
Helen is survived by her sons, Daryl M. (Terry) Canter of Tionesta, PA; Dean F. Canter (Betti Lohse) of Sharpsville, PA, sisters, Carol Listo, Jean Fair, 3 grandchildren, Amanda, Jake (Christine) Canter. Also surviving are 7 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by father, Fred Carl Bloss, mother, Mae Elizabeth Bloss, and daughter, Pamela L. Rossi.
Friends may call Thursday January 4th, 2018 from 11 am to 3 pm at Donaldson-Mohney Funeral Home & Cremation Service 124 Main St. Sharpsville, PA 16150.
Funeral services will be held Thursday January 4th, 2018 at 3 pm in Donaldson- Mohney Funeral Home with Pastor Aaron Lego, officiating. A funeral dinner will follow at Grace Chapel Church.
Burial will take place in Westside Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be sent to Grace Chapel Community Church for the “Cares 4 Kids” backpack program 4075 Lamor Rd. Hermitage, PA 16148 in memory of Helen.
