Helen Bateman of Bechtol Ave. Sharon, passed away peacefully on Saturday March 19th, 2016 in Clepper Nursing Home.
Helen was born on July 7th, 1919 in West Middlesex, PA, one of seven children born to Walter H. and Dessie (Ross) Bateman. She was a graduate of Sharpsville High School. Helen attended the Caldwell School of Cosmetology in Sharon, PA. She was employed for several years at the Mason Beauty Salon in Sharpsville, PA and then she practiced her trade at Angela’s Beauty Salon in Downtown Sharon.
Helen and her sister Patricia “Rinny” were familiar figures for many years, walking in and around the Buhl Park area. She loved sharing the holidays with her extended family. Helen was a wonderful baker especially famous for her Lemon Meringue Pies.
She was a very kind and gentle person, respected and loved by all who knew her.
Helen is survived by two brothers Albert and his wife Marie Bateman of Sharon, PA; William and his wife Judy Bateman of Hermitage, PA; sister-in-law, Suzanne Bateman of Sharpsville, PA; she will be especially missed by her many loving nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Catherine Bornes and Patricia Bateman; also two brothers, Walter and Calvin Bateman.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday March 22nd, 2016 at 1:00 pm in Donaldson-Mohney Funeral Home with Rev. Joseph J. Yurko Jr., of Sharpsville First United Methodist Church officiating.
Burial will take place in Haywood Cemetery West Middlesex, PA.
