Harvey Geiwitz Obituary
Harvey Robert Geiwitz, 77, of Greenville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday February 17th, 2016 at his home in Greenville, surrounded by family.
Harvey was born on June 12th, 1938 to George L. and Neva (Tanner) Geiwitz in Sharon, PA. He graduated from Sharpsville High School. Harvey worked as a truck driver for Seidle Sand & Gravel, as a millwright for National Castings, and most recently as a truck driver for Williams Brothers. On March 25, 1960 he married his wife Diana Sernick, who survives at home.
He enjoyed driving through the country with his family, riding his motorcycle, and working with CB Radios. Harvey was also owner and operator of Harvey’s Excavating.
Harvey is survived by his wife Diana, daughter - Annamarie Lee Geiwitz and her companion Gary M. Chizmar Sr. of Jamestown, PA; son - John L. (JoEllen) Geiwitz of Hermitage, PA; sister - Virginia Lehman of West Middlesex, PA; 2 brothers - Don (Martha) Geiwitz of Mercer, PA, Edward (Norma) Geiwitz of West Middlesex, PA; 2 brother in laws - Clarence Shiderly of Pittsburgh, PA, Fred (Jean) Sernick of Greenville, PA; granddaughter - Blair Nichole Chizmar-Geiwitz; also many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by father, George L. Geiwitz, mother, Neva Geiwitz, son, Fred Charles Geiwitz, sisters, Alice Shiderly, Neva “Sis” Montgomery, brother, Leon Geiwitz, sister in law Lois Geiwitz, and brother in laws, Grant Montgomery and Russell Lehman.
Friends may call Saturday, February 20th, 2016 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Donaldson-Mohney Funeral Home, 124 Main St. Sharpsville, PA.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 20th, 2016, 1:00 pm in the Donaldson-Mohney Funeral Home, Sharpsville, PA, with Rev William Locke, officiating.
