Glenn F. Mathieson Sr., 66, of Greenville, passed away peacefully in his home on March 16th, 2016.
Glenn was born on September 24th, 1949 to Floyd and Ethel (Harold) Mathieson in Grove City, PA. He graduated from Grove City High School class of 1968. Following high school he enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard in 1968 and served until 1972. Glenn worked as manager for Riverside Markets in DuBois, PA and as a Route Salesman for the George Howe Company. On October 25th, 1968 he married his wife Sue Ellen Smith, who survives at home.
He was a member of Hillside Presbyterian Church. Glenn enjoyed golfing, hunting, bowling, and loved the beach. He was a member of the Reynolds VFW post 7599. Most important to Glenn was spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Glenn is survived by his loving wife Sue, son, Brett James of Dallas, Texas, daughter, Margaret (Mark) Marmo of Harmony PA, son, Glenn “Bunky” (Mandy) Mathieson Jr. of Gibsonia, PA, brother, Larry (Sue) Mathieson, sister, Karen Bonzer, sister Patricia (Paul) McKee; also surviving are 4 grandchildren, Emily and Tyler Marmo and Halle and Paige Mathieson.
He was preceded in death by father, Floyd Mathieson, mother, Ethel Mathieson, and brother James Mathieson.
Friends may call Friday, March 18th, 2016 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Saturday March 19th, 2016 from 10 am to 11 am at the Donaldson-Mohney Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 124 Main St. Sharpsville, PA.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 19th, 2016, 11:00 am at the Donaldson-Mohney Funeral Home with Rev. Sean Hall, officiating.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the VNA Alliance Hospice Care 704 N. Main Street Meadville, PA 16335, in memory of Glenn.
