Frank Conti Obituary
Frank Conti, 90, of Sharpsville, passed away on Monday February 11th, 2019 in New Castle, PA.
Frank was born on August 31st, 1928 in Sharpsville, PA to Louis and Mattia (Recine) Conti, who came from Pofi, Italy. He attended Sharpsville High School. Frank was a veteran who served in the U.S. Army. He worked as a millwright for Shenango Inc. over 35 years until his retirement. He also worked two years on the railroad. On September 6th, 1958 he married his wife, the late Shirley (Settle) Conti, who passed away November 3rd, 2011.
He was a lifelong member of St. Bartholomew Roman Catholic Church. Frank was a talented athlete. He played football, basketball, and fast pitch softball on the U.S. Army teams who would compete against professional athletes. Frank continued his athletic career in the Shenango Valley for many years on fast pitch softball teams. He loved Sharpsville and was an avid Sharpsville sports fan. He also followed and supported Notre Dame Athletics. Frank was also a member of the Italian American War Vets.
Frank is survived by his daughter, Justine A. Conti of Sharpsville, PA, son, Gary Conti of Sharpsville, PA, grandchildren, Jenna Conti, Joey Fuoco, Allison Britton, and brother, Anthony Conti.
He was preceded in death by father, Louis Conti, mother, Mattia Conti, wife, Shirley Conti, daughter in law, Kimberly (Fuoco) Conti, infant sister, sisters, Rose Pacifico, Theresa Gula, Mary Conti Marriotti, and brother, Sebastian Conti.
Friends may call Friday February 15th, 2019 from 5 pm to 7 pm at Donaldson-Mohney Funeral Home & Cremation Service 124 Main St. Sharpsville, PA.
Funeral service will be held February 15th, 2019 at 7 pm in the funeral home with Father Matthew Strickenberger, officiating.
