Eugenia Walko Obituary
Eugenia R. “Ruth” Walko of Sharpsville, passed away following an extended illness 9:50 pm on July 30, 2012 in Sharon Regional Health System Sharon, PA. She was 88.
She was born on June 23, 1924 to Verne and Anna (Foster) Reynolds in Sharpsville, PA. She graduated from Sharpsville High School class of 1942 and attended Youngstown State University. Ruth worked for Westinghouse during World War II and UPMC Farrell. On May 21, 1955 she married her husband Joseph Walko who survives at home.
Ruth was a member of St. Bartholomew Roman Catholic Church. She was also a member of St. Joseph’s woman’s club, the S.O.B. (same old bunch). She was well known for her Rice-A-Roni recipe and loved spending time with her grandson and neighbor Sue Pisarcik, also her lifetime friend Mary Kitch.
Eugenia is survived by her loving spouse Joseph, 2 sons - Mark J. Walko of New York, NY, Kevin A. Walko Sr. of Sharpsville, PA, also her grandson - Kevin A. Walko Jr.
She was preceded in death by father, Verne Reynolds and mother, Anna Reynolds.
Visitation will be held Friday August 3rd, 2012 from 6 pm to 9 pm at the Donaldson-Mohney Funeral Home, 124 Main St. Sharpsville, PA.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday August 4th, 2012 10:30 am at St. Bartholomew’s Roman Catholic Church, with Father Marc Stockton officiating.
Memorial contribution can be made to St. Bartholomew’s Holy Name Society.
Burial will take place in the St. Johns Carpathian-Russian Cemetery.
