Erla Ann (Jennings) DelFratte

Erla Ann “Annie” DelFratte, of Hermitage Hills Blvd., Hermitage (formerly of Sharpsville) was welcomed in heaven at 2:20 am on September 24th, following a brief illness. She was 76.

Erla was born on March 23rd 1937, the youngest daughter of Herman and Grace (Ague) Jennings, and was raised by Fred and Maude (Ague) Patton and John Fye. She was a 1955 graduate of Sharpsville High School. She was employed by Shenango Furnace when she met her husband Joseph, of 57 years. Erla married Joseph L. DelFratte September 15th 1956 and became a devoted wife and stay at home mom.

As a devoted member of St. Bartholomew’s parish, she served as lector and was an original member of the Samaritan’s team. Not only a cancer survivor, she supported the American Cancer Society and facilitated its annual book fair for over twenty years. Over the years she enjoyed camping, traveling, reading, collecting recipes, genealogy, writing poetry, music, card club, class get-togethers, and organizing casino bus trips. In recent years, she helped with Shenango Inc. Retirees.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Becky (Jim) Wolf of Winter Haven, FL, Jeanne (Bill) Patterson of Greenville, PA, her beloved grandchildren Zach and Kevin Wolf, Candace Vernille, and Sylvia Patterson. Also surviving is her sister Norma Jean (Thomas) Findley of Sharpsville, PA.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, June Sherman, Violet Reinhardt, Madeline Nickel, brothers, Herman “Bud” Jennings, Keith “Cheater” Redmond, and Edward Patton, also son in law James P. Vernille.

Mass will be held Friday September 27th 2013 at 1:00 pm in St. Bartholomew’s Roman Catholic Church Sharpsville, PA with Father Matthew J. Strickenberger officiating.

Internment will take place in St. Marys Cemetery.
