Edward Sarvas Obituary
Edward Sarvas "Eddie" of Hermitage, PA passed away Sunday May 3rd, 2015 at his home in Hermitage after an extended illness. He was 85.
Mr. Sarvas was born on November 11th, 1929 in Pymatuning Township, PA to Frank and Margaret (Eged) Sarvas.
He joined the U.S. Army at 17 and served in Vienna, Austria during WWII as an MP (Military Police). He received the World War II Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal
He worked for Shenango Inc. for over 50 years as a crane operator, and later as a security guard, until his retirement. He was an avid golfer and bowler, having entered many bowling tournaments throughout the northeastern U.S.
Mr. Sarvas is survived by his brother John Sarvas (Helen) and sisters Peg Forrest and Priscilla Ridgway (Bob), along with his children Kerry Sarvas (Natsulee) and Sherry Hugo; his grandchildren Noel Sarvas (Shanna), Brittany Caplan (Steve), Anthony Hugo, Michael Hugo, and Jenna Cenno (Tony), and his great grandchildren Raina Crawford, Gia Sarvas, Alex Sarvas, Juliet Caplan, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Fran (Needels), five sisters - Mary DeMartinis, Julie Frankel, Rose Grassley, Betty Pasco, and Ethel Branzovich, his brother Frank Sarvas, and his grandson Korey Sarvas.
Friends may call Saturday, May 9th, 2015 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Donaldson-Mohney Funeral Home & Cremation Service 124 Main St. Sharpsville, PA.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 9th, 2015, 11:00 am at Donaldson-Mohney Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 124 Main St. Sharpsville, PA. Pastor C. Charles Eckles of I.H.S. Gospel Ministries in Hermitage, officiating.
Burial will take place in Transfer Cemetery.
