Edward A. Megyesi

Edward A. Megyesi, 85, of Sharon, passed away peacefully on Tuesday July 17th, 2018 at Nugent Convalescent Home in Hermitage, PA.  
  
Ed was born on November 5th, 1932 to Steven and Anna (Hosh) Megyesi in Farrell, PA. After graduating from high school he served during the Korean War in the US Air Force. Ed worked as blast furnace water tender for Sharon Steel Inc. On July 9th, 1965 he married his wife Gertrude (Shaffer) Megyesi who survives him.
  
He was a member of the Sharpsville VFW Post 6404. Ed enjoyed playing cards and was a member on Euchre clubs. He was also an avid bowler who played in both Sharpsville Lanes and Sunset Lanes bowling leagues.
  
Edward is survived by his loving wife Gertrude, daughters, Kathrine Bella-Heim (Jeff King) of Sharpsville, Emma Shingleton (Bill Levitt) of Sharon, Vernetta Daugherty of Sharpsville, sons, Edward A. (Laurie) Megyesi II of Boardman, OH, Charles Megyesi of Castleview, NY. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.
  
He was preceded in death by father, Steven Megyesi, mother, Anna Megyesi, brothers, Steven, John, and Jimmy Megyesi, sister, Helen Megyesi, and grandson, James Megyesi.
  
Friends may gather Saturday July 21st, 2018 from 10 am to 11 am at Donaldson-Mohney Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 124 Main St. Sharpsville, PA.
    
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, July 21st, 2018, 11:00 am in the Donaldson-Mohney Funeral Home, Sharpsville, PA with full military honors.
  
Burial will take place in St. Marys Cemetery.
