Edward J. Davis, 73, formerly of the Reynolds area, Pymatuming Township, passed away 12:30 am on Wednesday April 2, 2014 at White Cliff Nursing Home following a 2 year illness.
He was born on February 25, 1941 to Milton E. and Helen M. (Cameron) Davis in Mercer, PA. He graduated from Sharpsville High School class of 1960. Edward worked at Sharon Steel Farrell Plant for 29 years until his retirement. On July 15, 1978 he married the late Mary Dennison who passed away March 9th, 2000.
Edward attended the Methodist Church. He was a member of the Reynolds VFW, and Greenville Eagles Lodge. Edward enjoyed sports of all kinds. He followed the Pirates and Steelers and very seldom missed a game on TV. He was also an avid Sharpsville Football Fan.
Edward is survived by 2 daughters - Joyce A. Davis and companion William Shannon both of Greenville, PA, Christine Davis of Greenville, PA; 2 sisters - Barbara A. Colon of Lima, OH, and Mrs. John K. “Peg” Mohney of Transfer, PA. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by father, Milton E. Davis, mother, Helen M. Davis, wife, Mary Davis, 2 sisters Patricia Rainey, and Mary Belle Vodenichar.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 04, 2014 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Donaldson-Mohney Funeral Home, 124 Main St. Sharpsville, PA.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 4, 2014, 12:00 pm at the Donaldson-Mohney Funeral Home, Sharpsville, PA, with Rev. Charles Eckles, officiating.
Burial will take place in the Westside Cemetery.
