Dorothy Lou “Dottie” Jennings, 87, formerly of Sharpsville, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday November 30th, 2016 at St. Paul Homes Greenville, PA.
Dorothy was born on October 24th, 1929 to George and Ethel Ruth Catherine (Buergin) Dodds in Homestead, PA. She graduated from Taylor-Allderdice High School, where she graduated with Myron Cope. Dorothy worked as a Supervisory Teller for National City Bank, until her retirement. On August 14th, 1948 she married the late Robert N. Jennings Sr. who passed away May 17th, 2013.
She was a member of the South Pymatuning Community Church. Dorothy was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates fan who never missed a game. She also enjoyed watching the Steelers, flower gardening, cooking meals for her family, attending her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s’ sporting events. Most important to her was her family.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Wendy K. Andes, Sharpsville; a son, Robert (Denise) Jennings Jr., West Middlesex; a grandson, Matthew Jennings; four granddaughters, Keri (Jason) Longwell, Alicia (John) Kimpan, Julie (Brian) Pollock and Jill Andes and her companion Ron Mowry; and four great-grandchildren, Caleb, Benjamin, Sam and Kylie. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, step father, Harry Buergin, and husband Robert N. Jennings Sr.
Dorothy’s family extends a special thank you to the staff at St. Paul Homes for the wonderful care they provided.
Per Dorothy’s wishes, funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
Burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery.
