Dorothea M. (Mardersteck) Jaeger

Dorothea M. Jaeger of Gibsonia, PA passed away Tuesday June 21st, 2016 at St. Barnabas Nursing Home in Gibsonia, PA.

Dorothea was born on March 5th, 1917 to Karl and Mary (Auth) Mardersteck in Philadelphia, PA. She graduated from Sharon High School class of 1935. On November 23rd, 1944 she married the late Ernest William Jaeger, who passed away in 1981.

In her earlier years she was a member of Sacred Heart Church and then became a member of St. Joseph Church also in Sharon, PA. She was a homemaker who cared for her family. Dorothea enjoyed playing cards, particularly Bridge and spending time with her family.

Surviving her is daughter Carol Leshock of Greensburg, PA; sons, Paul (Nancy) Jaeger of Akron, OH; Frank Jaeger of Pittsburgh, PA; Joseph (Rita) Jaeger of Southwood, MA; sister, Rosemary Mardersteck of Sharon, PA; 7 grandchildren, David, Brett, Stacy, Libby, Eric, Michael, Christopher; 6 great grandchildren, Paige, Eric, Grayson, Beckham, Jack, and William.

Dorothea was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ernest William Jaeger, sister, Helena Mitch, brother, Jack Mardersteck, and son-in-law, David Leshock.

The family will receive friends on Saturday June 25th, 2016 from 9 am to the time of Mass at 10 am in St. Joseph Church 79 Case Ave. Sharon, PA 16146.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 am in St. Joseph Church with Father Thomas Whitman, officiating.

Burial will take place in St. Rose Cemetery Hermitage, PA.
