Carol I. McCullough, 74, of Mercer, formerly of Jefferson Township, passed away peacefully at 7:05 pm on June 30, 2013 in the Countryside Nursing Home, Mercer, PA, after an extended illness.
Carol was born on February 13, 1939 to William D. and Lyda E. (Wilkison) McCullough in Jefferson Township, PA. She attended and graduated from Mercer High School. Carol worked as a Receptionist at Career Link.
She was a lifelong member of the Faith Presbyterian Church, Woman’s Association, the Christian Endeavor, the choir, taught Sunday school, started the Youth Choir, member of the Jefferson Twp. Fair Board, and the Civic League of Jefferson Twp.
Carol is survived by 2 sisters - Ruth Rust of Hermitage, PA, Marian (Colin) Appleton of Naples, FL; brother - William D. (Bonnie) McCullough Jr. of Sharpsville, PA; 7 nieces and nephews - Barbara McWilliams, Lois Simons, Jean Roberts, Jess Thompson, and Beth Carlson; Mark Hackett Sr., and Billy McCullough III. She is also survived by numerous cousins, and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by father, William D. McCullough, mother, Lyda E. McCullough, sister, Helen Hackett, step-brother, Raymond Shaffer, and niece, Nancy Ashman.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 03, 2013 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Donaldson-Mohney Funeral Home, 124 Main Street, Sharpsville, PA.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 5, 2013, 10:30 am at the Faith Presbyterian, with Rev. Steve Stelle officiating.
Burial will take place in the Mount Washington Cemetery.
