Betty Saunders Obituary
Betty Marie Saunders, 85, of Hermitage, passed away peacefully 9:30 pm on Wednesday October 7th, 2015 at John XXIII Nursing Home in Hermitage, PA.
Betty was born on December 17th, 1929 to Harry and Sadie (Talliez) Prosser in Cresson, PA. Betty was a homemaker. She attended St. John’s Lutheran Church in Greenville, PA. She married her husband, the late James F. Saunders who passed away in 1997. Betty was a life and charter member of the Reynolds VFW Ladies Auxillary Post 7599. She was also a member of the Garden Club and enjoyed crafts, wood working, yard sales, garage sales, and following the Steelers.
Betty is survived by her daughter - Susan M. Engel of Greenville, PA; 2 sons - Thomas M. (Gail) Stafford Jr. of Sharon, PA, Randy D. (Amanda) Stafford of Greenville, PA; 2 step sons - Frederick (Debbie) Saunders of Greenville, PA, Terry Saunders of Greenville, PA; 8 Grandchildren - Jessica M. Schuster, Michelle Noble, Christine Hower, Michael Polk, Alyssa Redden, Buddy Redden, Rebecca Saunders, Timothy Saunders; several great grandchildren, companion - Tony Goral of Greenville, PA, and beloved dog Nicky.
She was preceded in death by father, Harry Prosser, mother, Sadie Prosser, husband, James F. Saunders, brother, Harry Prosser Jr., brother, Leroy Prosser, brother, Leo Prosser, sister, Florence Noel, and infant sister, Sadie Grace.
Friends may call Sunday, October 11th, 2015 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Donaldson-Mohney Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 124 Main St. Sharpsville, PA.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 11th , 2015, 4:00 pm at the Donaldson-Mohney Funeral Home, Sharpsville, PA.
Burial will take place in the Westside Cemetery.
