Alma J. Cullen of Buhl Farm Dr. Hermitage, PA passed away 7:40 am Tuesday June 17th, 2014. She was 82 years old.
She was born December 7th, 1931 in Burgettstown, PA to George and Anna Maleychik. She was a graduate of Sharpsville High School, class of 1950. Alma received her special education and learning disabled degree and reading specialist degree at Youngstown State University in 1970.
Alma taught at Reynolds, Farrell, Sharon, and Hermitage Schools. Also, Mrs. Cullen was a teacher in the Association for Children’s Learning Disabilities at F.H. Buhl Club Sharon, PA for 35 years. She met the love of her life Howard Cullen and they exchanged wedding vows on June 6th, 1959 in the First Presbyterian Church in Sharpsville, PA.
She was a 60 year member of the First Presbyterian Church in Sharpsville, PA where she served as a deacon and elder. Mrs. Cullen was Mother Advisor of Sharon Rainbow Order for Girls and lifetime member of Sharon Chapter #242 Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Cullen was especially honored to receive the 2012 Sharon Regional Health System Volunteer of the Year Award, where she volunteered over 8,000 hours. She enjoyed traveling, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are a daughter Kathy C. Herc and her husband George of Randolph, New Jersey, one sister Margaret Shivak, two grandchildren Mary Herc and Thomas Herc and special friend Donald McFarland.
She was preceded in death by her husband Howard Cullen, parents, and three sisters Anna Meszaros, Mary Bonaquist, Betty Conger, two brothers George and John Maleychik.

Friends may call from 2 pm to 4 pm and 7 pm to 9 pm Friday June 20th, 2014 at Donaldson-Mohney Funeral Home 124 Main St. Sharpsville, PA.
Also Saturday June 21st, 2014 at the First Presbyterian Church Sharpsville, PA 10 am until time of the service.
Funeral Services will take place in the First Presbyterian Church Sharpsville, PA Saturday June 21st, 2014 at 10:30 am with Pastor Robbie Arnold, officiating.
Burial will take place in the Oakwood Cemetery Sharon, PA.
