Alan James Obituary
Alan Kevin James, 69 of Mercer went to be with the Lord Saturday April 17th, 2021 following an extended courageous battle with Parkinson ’s disease, in his home with his family at his side.
Alan was born May 8th, 1951 to Grace Marie (Hogue) and William Forrester James II in Sharon, PA. He was a 1969 graduate of Hickory High School and earned his MBA from Youngstown State University. Alan worked for Wheatland Tube as Operations Controller until his retirement due to health problems. On August 6th, 1977 he married his wife, Dolores Marie (Anderson) James, who survives at home.
He was previously a member of Charleston United Methodist Church and attended Lebanon Presbyterian Church. Alan was also a member of MCWOA and enjoyed gardening, canning, woodworking, and maintaining his farm. Alan will be affectionately remembered for his love of singing.
Alan is survived by his wife Dolores, daughters, Mindi Marie (Charles) Madison of Hermitage, Cindi Marie (Todd) Tatarka of Girard, OH, son, Kevin Scott James of Lackawannock Township, grandchildren, Kenneth Lee Madison and Noelle Marie Madison.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother William Forrester “Jim” James III.
Per his wish, private funeral services will be held with Pastor Bill Knechtel officiating.
Burial will take place in Mt. Washington Cemetery.
