Ada Calvin Obituary
Ada Jane Calvin, 92, 21607 Golden Dr., Meadville (formerly of Sharpsville, PA), passed away peacefully 2:00 pm on Saturday April 12, 2014 at Rolling Fields Nursing Home in Conneaut, PA.
She was born on April 25, 1921 to William J. and Ada (Parks) Allison in New Bethlehem, PA. She graduated from Hickory High School class of 1940. Ada worked as a Nurses Aide for Sharon Regional Hospital, Mercer County Home, and private duty. On October 15, 1940 she married the late Lee Calvin who passed away in 1989.
She was of Nazarene Faith. Ada volunteered at the Salvation Army, was a member of Artcraft Homemakers Association Sharpsville, PA, 4-H Leader, and Sunday school teacher. She also enjoyed poetry writing, wrote music, sewing, and gardening.
Ada is survived by her daughter - Barbara A. Childs of Meadville, PA; sister - Betty (George) Sember of Sharpsville, PA; sister in law - Jean Allison of Sharpsville, PA; 3 Grandchildren - Stephen Litwiler, Curtis Dunkerley, and Lee Litwiler. Also surviving are 6 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by daughter, Judy Lee Calvin, sister, Pansey Scott, sister, Lucille Bertolasio, sister, Thera Cooley, brother, Russell Allison, brother, Kenneth Allison, brother, George Allison, brother, Bert Allison, and brother, Raymond Allison.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 15, 2014 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Donaldson-Mohney Funeral Home, 124 Main St. Sharpsville, PA.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2014, 12:00 pm at the Donaldson-Mohney Funeral Home. Friends may call from 11 am until the time of service.
Burial will take place in the Westside Cemetery.
