Robert Harry VanHorn, 74, of Sharpsville, passed away following an extended battle with cancer on Thursday, November 3rd, 2016 at Sharon Regional Health System in Sharon, PA.  
  
Robert was born on August 11th, 1942 to Harry A. and Lois A. (Frye) VanHorn in Sharon, PA. He graduated from Sharpsville High School, class of 1961. Following graduation, he served in the U.S. Air Force in the Strategic Air Command. Robert always remembered his service fondly. Robert worked as a crew leader for Sawhill Tube for 40 years until his retirement. After he retired, Robert worked for Sharon Regional Health System transporting patients.

On December 3rd, 1966 he married Lynn A. (Myers) Van Horn.
    
Robert is survived by his loving wife Lynn; his son, Todd R. VanHorn of Sharpsville, PA; his daughter, Reagan Macri and her husband Vittorio, of Hermitage, PA; his grandson, Aidan Macri; his granddaughter, Autumn Macri; and his aunt, Elizabeth "Betty" Frye.
  
He was preceded in death by his father, Harry A. VanHorn, his mother, Lois A. VanHorn, his grandson, Robert "Robbie" T. VanHorn, and his uncle, Merle "Jiggs" Frye.

Robert loved his dog, Katie. He was a member of the Coffee Club at Lock Stock n Barrel in Sharpsville, PA.  He enjoyed Sharpsville Borough and Air Force history. He was a dedicated Sharpsville High School and Penn State football fan.  He loved his family, and was possibly the best grandfather (Bob-Bob) ever.
  
Friends may call Tuesday, November 8th, 2016 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Donaldson-Mohney Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 124 Main St. Sharpsville, PA.
    
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 8th, 2016, 6:00 pm in the Donaldson-Mohney Funeral Home, Sharpsville, PA, with Rev. Wayne Sutton, officiating.

Full military honors will be offered following the funeral service.
  
A private burial service will take place in the Riverside Cemetery, Sharpsville, PA.
  
Memorial contributions may be sent to the animal charity of donors’ choice in memory of Robert.
